Thanks for coming by to check out IT & Patience, my blog about website design, information technology (IT), & Communicate Solutions.
The name of the blog is kind of tongue-in-cheek, loosely based on a quote by Ambrose Bierce, an American writer, journalist, and editor. I guess technically it is not a quote since I'm not sure ol' Bitter Bierce said it, though he penned it in The Devil's Dictionary. The idea is that IT is sorta like patience in that it can be a pain some times, but it can also play an important role in an organization's success, also like patience.
Information technology helping an organization become successful you scoff?? Yes I say, and its not just for the big guys like Wal-Mart and Fannie Mae, it's also for mom and pop antique stores and small time contractors. Having a website, at the very least, is critical in today's wired world. Websites are an invaluable tool for marketing your small business.
Techies like me aren't the only ones using the 'Net for everything. For example, my fiancée, who graduated from college with a BA in English more than a few years ago, is using the world wide web almost exclusively to research vendors and make arrangements for our upcoming wedding. She's not paying for these services online via ecommerce, she's looking around the website to get a feel for whether the services will meet her needs and the people will be nice to work with. She's just collecting information and perhaps emailing people to initiate contact.
My company, Communicate Solutions, is a website design firm which specializes in informational websites for small businesses. We understand that small businesses are unique. We don't develop cookie-cutter websites, we work with small businesses to design a website that reflects their uniqueness.
We also produce tools to help small businesses manage their website once it is up and running with a minimal amount of effort. We make it easy to be able to update the website and get information about how many people are visiting the website. All this at very reasonable prices, we're trying to make the entire process as painless as possible. Check out the website for more information.
I promise future posts won't be as ad-like as this one. Just have a little patience ;)
